If you needed to know what the DNA of the average Sonic fan was back then, those games had it distilled into them. One of them has Sonic go Super, and while powering up, the enemy tries hitting him, but he just no sells it and finishes, unleashing a hyper combo. All I really remember, honestly, was that the battles had really good animation, especially for the Limit Breaks. Turn-based episodic Sonic games with edgy OCs and some crossovers with Megaman, I think.
